米最高裁、Apple対Epic Gamesの両社の控訴を棄却。実質的にEpicの敗訴が確定。
米国時間の2024年1月17日、米国最高裁判所はApple対Epic Gamesの両社の控訴を棄却し、これによりEpicの敗訴がほぼ確定しました。
これを受け、Epic Games CEOのTim Sweeney氏はXにて「最高裁がエピック対アップルの反トラスト法違反訴訟で双方の上告を棄却。iOSを競合するストアや決済に開放するための法廷闘争は、米国で敗北した。すべての開発者にとって悲しい結果だ。」とコメントしている。
The Supreme Court denied both sides’ appeals of the Epic v. Apple antitrust case. The court battle to open iOS to competing stores and payments is lost in the United States. A sad outcome for all developers.
